Job summary

Compunnel in Atlanta, GA is seeking an experienced QA Engineer to ensure high-quality software through manual testing, API validation, and test automation across web apps and APIs. You will design, execute, and maintain testing strategies, identify defects, and support release validation throughout the SDLC.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT/Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of Software QA and Testing experience.
• Experience with manual and automation testing for web apps and APIs.
• ISTQB certification preferred; healthcare domain experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Job Summary The QA Engineer will be responsible for ensuring high-quality software delivery through manual testing, API testing, and test automation across web applications and APIs. The role will involve designing, executing, and maintaining comprehensive testing strategies, identifying and resolving defects, supporting release validation, and collaborating with cross-functional teams throughout the software development lifecycle. The QA Engineer will also contribute to CI/CD testing strategies and continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, review, and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scenarios.
• Perform functional, integration, regression, system, and end-to-end testing.
• Conduct API testing using tools such as Postman and validate REST APIs.
• Design, develop, and maintain test automation frameworks using Selenium or Playwright.
• Identify, document, track, and verify software defects.
• Collaborate with Developers, Business Analysts, Product Owners, and DevOps teams to ensure quality throughout the development lifecycle.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives, and daily stand-ups.
• Support release validation and production deployment testing activities.
• Contribute to CI/CD testing strategies and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
• Ensure testing best practices and quality standards are followed across projects.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance and Testing.
• Proven experience in manual and automation testing across web applications and APIs.
• Strong experience in Manual Testing.
• Expertise in API Testing using Postman and REST APIs.
• Automation testing experience with Selenium or Playwright.
• Knowledge of JSON, HTTP protocols, and API validation.
• Experience with defect management tools such as JIRA or Azure DevOps.
• Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and GitHub Actions.
• Knowledge of SQL for backend and database validation.
• Healthcare domain experience.
• Basic programming skills in Java, Python, or JavaScript.
• Experience designing and maintaining test automation frameworks.
• Experience working in cloud-based environments.
• Exposure to performance and security testing.

Certifications

• ISTQB or equivalent QA certification.
