This initiative aims to deliver an exceptional customer experience across design, planning, and order delivery for customers in the US, Canada, and LATAM.

ROLE SUMMARY

The QA Engineer will ensure the quality and performance of technology solutions by designing and executing test plans, identifying bugs, and collaborating with the development team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software testing, test automation, and attention to detail.

USG offers a hybrid work environment based in Chicago, IL, with minimal travel required.

TEAM OVERVIEW

The Product Data and Information Publishing (PIM) team manages product information across systems and websites in the US, Canada, and LATAM. Operating in an agile environment, the team works under a Product Owner and a Technology Lead, with shared goals of delivering industry-leading digital solutions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Design, develop, and execute test plans and cases for software features.
  2. Perform manual and automated testing to find and document defects.
  3. Review and update test cases to meet quality standards.
  4. Conduct regression testing to verify code changes.
  5. Create and maintain automated test scripts using tools like Selenium.
  6. Analyze test results and report on testing metrics.
  7. Ensure adherence to quality standards throughout the development process.
  8. Improve testing processes continuously.
  9. Collaborate with product and development teams to ensure comprehensive test coverage.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience as a QA Engineer or similar role.

Required Skills

  • Deep understanding of testing methodologies, tools, and processes.
  • Experience with manual and automated testing, including writing test cases.
  • Proficiency with automation tools like Selenium.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks.
  • Experience with customer experience applications.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum environments.

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of Product Information Management (PIM) systems and search engines.
  • Experience with website performance testing, especially search and product display.
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines.
