Job summary

TabaPay is seeking a software QA engineer to help ensure reliable deployments and system integrity across our fintech platforms in the US. You will verify REST API and front-end quality, write and run test cases, and collaborate with Operations, QA, and Engineering in a hybrid Palo Alto setting.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of software QA in fintech or operations-heavy environments.
• Experience testing Web/UI and REST APIs; SQL for backend checks.
• Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills.
• Familiarity with SDLC processes and change-control checklists.
• Excellent communication to bridge Operations, QA and Engineering.
• High attention to UI consistency and edge cases.

What You’ll Do

• Verify Operations Change Controls: Validate and sign off on operations change control tickets to ensure safe and reliable deployments.
• Support Continuous Operations: Assist in verifying operations tasks. While our operations run 24x7x365, you will provide critical QA support to ensure system reliability during key operational periods.
• Govern the SDLC Process: Enforce and audit SDLC compliance across operations releases using standardized checklists.
• Validate Build Health: Verify build success by ensuring deployments are free of errors, regressions, and security vulnerabilities.
• Enhance the Operations Portal: Partner with the Operations team to validate new features added to the Operations Portal while ensuring comprehensive regression testing for existing functionality.
• Provide Cross-Functional Backup: Support secondary QA testing for the Client Portal and assist with REST API testing.
• Leverage AI-Driven QA: Utilize advanced AI tools to accelerate test plan design, generate test cases, and automate test execution.

Qualifications

• Experience: 3-5+ years of software QA engineering experience, ideally in a fast-paced fintech, payments, or operations-heavy environment.
• API & UI Testing: Solid experience testing Web/UI applications and REST APIs (using tools like Postman, Bruno, or similar).
• Database Proficiency: Hands-on experience writing SQL queries to verify data, inspect database state, and perform backend validation.
• Troubleshooting: Strong analytical skills with a proven ability to perform root-cause analysis on complex operational or build-level issues.
• Process Governance: Familiarity with standard SDLC processes, change control frameworks, and deployment checklists.
• Soft Skills: Outstanding communication and collaboration skills to act as a bridge between Operations, QA, and Engineering.
• Aesthetic & Detail: High attention to detail with an eye for UI consistency, process gaps, and edge cases.

The pay range for this position is $105,000 for base pay; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits as listed below, dependent on the position offered.

This position is hybrid 3 times a week in our Palo Alto office.
