Job summary

DMA - DuCharme, McMillen & Associates, Inc. is seeking a Software QA Engineer to ensure quality in our software solutions. The role involves designing and executing manual and automated tests, collaborating with developers, and supporting agile delivery.

Hybrid position in Fort Wayne, IN, two days in-office. ESOP eligibility from day one, generous time off, and company-paid parental leave are among the benefits. Relevant experience with Jira, Selenium, and SDLC is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field.
• 2-5 years of experience in QA, testing web-based applications, or programming.
• Experience with Jira and Selenium is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with financial or business process applications is a plus.
• Intermediate understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC).
• Experience with automated testing tools.
• Basic familiarity with Agile development and QA methodologies.
• Experience with GitLab and Chrome.
• Basic understanding of relational databases, object-relational mapping, and distributed systems.
• Basic understanding of web development and related technologies.
• Intermediate attention to detail and analytical thinking.
• Intermediate verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively in a team environment.
• Intermediate time management and organizational abilities.
• Intermediate listening skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, execute, and maintain test cases, data, and scripts for manual and automated testing.
• Perform functional, non-functional, regression, and UAT testing.
• Participate in sprint planning, QA reviews, and project meetings.
• Document and report defects using Jira or similar tools.
• Collaborate with developers and analysts to create targeted test scenarios.
• Assist in risk analysis and quality assessments for releases.
• Help establish realistic estimates for tasks.
• Mentor and guide team members.
• Triage software issues and document root causes.
• Support QA documentation and reporting accuracy.
• Ensure adherence to approved testing methodologies.
• Contribute to QA documentation and process improvements.
• Support automation tools such as Selenium.
• Provide oversight to ensure quality standards across projects.
