Job summary

DuCharme, McMillen & Associates, Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain high-performance Java applications. You will mentor junior developers and drive architectural decisions, collaborating across teams to deliver scalable software.

The role requires 5+ years of Java experience, strong knowledge of distributed systems, and familiarity with Spring, Hibernate, and CI/CD practices. Hybrid work is expected in Fort Wayne, IN.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field preferred.
• Minimum 5+ years professional programming experience in Java.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and ORM.
• Experience with MVC, AJAX, JavaScript, CSS, HTML.
• Familiarity with Spring, Hibernate, JPA, JUnit, Gradle, Struts, RMI, JDBC/SQL.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-volume, low-latency Java applications.
• Lead code reviews and mentor junior developers.
• Collaborate across teams to deliver scalable and secure software solutions.
• Write well-designed, testable code and develop unit tests.
• Prepare releases and documentation; support CI/CD pipelines.
