Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Mid-Level Test Engineer to join the Chinook Program supporting an Intelligence Community customer. You will lead test strategies, develop automated and manual tests, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure secure, reliable software for national security missions.

You will work in an Agile DevSecOps environment, automate testing, and continually improve quality while supporting multiple locations including Gaithersburg, MD, Alexandria, VA, Chantilly, VA,

Qualifications

• US citizenship is required per contract.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or related field with 4-8 years of experience, or Master's with 2-6 years of experience.
• 6+ years of software testing or quality engineering experience.
• Experience supporting Agile software development programs.
• Experience creating and executing manual and automated test plans.
• Experience with automated testing tools such as Cypress, Playwright, or equivalent.
• Experience with API testing using Postman or REST Assured.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools including Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps.
• Experience with Jira for defect tracking.
• Ability to communicate results to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, design, development, and execution of comprehensive test strategies across multiple Agile sprints.
• Design, develop, and maintain automated and manual test cases for new and existing capabilities.
• Collaborate daily with software engineers, product managers, system engineers, and Scrum Masters to define acceptance criteria.
• Perform functional, integration, regression, system, and end-to-end testing.
• Validate application performance, reliability, security, and usability.
• Identify, document, prioritize, and track defects through resolution.
• Support CI/CD pipelines by integrating automated testing into deployment workflows.
• Analyze test results, communicate risks, and provide quality improvements.
• Contribute to continuous process improvement initiatives within the Agile team.
