Job summary

Leidos seeks a Mid-Level Test Engineer to join the Chinook Program supporting an Intelligence Community customer. You will lead test strategies and develop automated and manual tests in an Agile DevSecOps environment to ensure secure, high-performing software delivery.

Ideal candidates have 6+ years in software testing, experience with Cypress/Playwright, API testing, and CI/CD tools, and the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

US citizenship is required.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or related field and 4-8 years of prior relevant experience or Master's with 2-6 years of prior relevant experience.
6+ years of software testing or quality engineering experience.
Experience supporting Agile software development programs.
Demonstrated experience creating and executing manual and automated test plans.
Experience with automated testing tools such as Cypress, Playwright, or equivalent.
Experience with API testing using tools such as Postman or REST Assured.
Familiarity with CI/CD tools including Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.
Experience with defect management tools such as Jira.
Ability to communicate results and issues to technical and non-technical customer stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Lead planning, design, development, and execution of comprehensive test strategies across multiple Agile sprints.
Design, develop, and maintain automated and manual test cases for new and existing capabilities.
Collaborate daily with software engineers, product managers, system engineers, and Scrum Masters to define acceptance criteria and ensure quality is built into every release.
Perform functional, integration, regression, system, and end-to-end testing.
Validate application performance, reliability, security, and usability.
Identify, document, prioritize, and track software defects through resolution.
Support Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines by integrating automated testing into deployment workflows.
Analyze test results, communicate risks, and provide recommendations that improve software quality.
Contribute to continuous process improvement initiatives that enhance Agile team effectiveness.
