Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a QA Engineer (API & Database Testing) to validate backend applications, data integrity, and end-to-end operations across enterprise systems. You will design and execute tests for REST and SOAP APIs, verify data across multiple databases, and ensure quality throughout the software lifecycle.

The role emphasizes collaboration with developers, analysts, and product teams in a hybrid work setup with three days/week in Lauderdale, FL.

Qualifications

• Experience testing REST and SOAP APIs with request/response validation.
• Advanced SQL skills for backend validation and data integrity checks.
• Experience with batch/ETL testing and data reconciliation.
• Familiarity with testing chatbot functionality and integrations.
• Knowledge of Agile defect tracking tools like Jira or Azure DevOps.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end test cases for REST and SOAP APIs.
• Validate backend data accuracy across applications and databases.
• Test stored procedures, views, and data transformations.
• Perform batch/ETL testing for scheduled jobs and data reconciliation.
• Document defects and communicate testing outcomes with Agile teams.
