Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a QA Engineer (API & Database Testing) to validate backend applications, data integrity, and end-to-end business operations. You will design tests for REST and SOAP APIs, perform advanced SQL validations, and collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the SDLC.

The role emphasizes hybrid work with three days per week in Lauderdale, FL offices, while offering flexible balance and strong wellbeing programs.

Qualifications

• Hands-on testing REST & SOAP APIs using common tools.
• Advanced SQL for data validation across systems.
• Experience with batch/ETL testing and data reconciliation.
• Experience with chatbot integrations and backend responses.
• Familiarity with Agile and defect tracking tools.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end tests for APIs (REST/SOAP).
• Validate backend data accuracy and integrity using SQL across applications.
• Test stored procedures, functions, views, and data transformations.
• Perform batch and ETL testing, data reconciliation, and downstream verification.
• Document defects, maintain evidence, and communicate testing outcomes to Agile teams.
