Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a QA Engineer focused on API, database, and batch testing to validate backend applications and data flows across enterprise systems. You will design test cases, automate where possible, and collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the SDLC.

Responsibilities include validating REST/SOAP APIs, performing advanced SQL checks, and ensuring data integrity across systems. The role emphasizes hybrid work with onsite collaboration when required.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience testing REST and SOAP APIs, including validation of payloads, status codes and errors.
• Advanced SQL skills and experience in backend validation and data integrity checks.
• Experience with batch testing, ETL testing, and data reconciliation.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end tests for REST and SOAP APIs.
• Validate backend data accuracy across databases and integrated systems.
• Test batch jobs, ETL processes, and data transformations for enterprise apps.
• Document defects and testing outcomes, supporting timely resolution with Agile teams.
