Job summary

Kitu Systems is seeking a QA Engineer to design and implement automated test frameworks and run cloud-based CI/CD pipelines. You will triage issues, drive bug resolution with the dev team, and collaborate across functions to ensure quality releases.

The role emphasizes hands-on testing, BDD, and strong Python automation skills. Remote flexibility is offered, with a focus on delivering robust software for energy platforms.

• Executing automated tests and analyzing test results to identify defects and performance issues.
• Performing manual and exploratory testing to validate new features and uncover edge cases that automation misses.
• Performing first level triage of bugs discovered through test activities.
• Driving bug resolution with the development team.

About the Role
We have an exciting role for a QA Engineer. Team responsibilities include developing scripts and tools to automate testing, building network environments for system testing, performing system tests, performing first level triage of issues discovered through test activities, and driving bug resolution with the development team.

What You Will Be Doing

Basic Qualifications

• Familiarity with software development life cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail

• Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet project deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science/Engineering or related work experience

• Experience with C/C++, Java, or JavaScript

• Experience with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) tools, particularly CircleCI

• Knowledge of cloud platforms and experience deploying tests via the cloud

• Experience with other programming languages and automation frameworks

• Experience with Behavior Driven Development (BDD) and Gherkin language

• Knowledge of API testing and familiarity with tools like Postman

• Understanding of containerization and container orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes

• Experience with performance testing and load testing tools

• Familiarity with version control systems such as Git
