Job summary

Kitu Systems is seeking a QA Engineer to design and implement automated test frameworks and run cloud-based CI/CD pipelines. You will triage issues, drive bug resolution with the dev team, and collaborate across functions to ensure quality releases.

The role emphasizes hands-on testing, BDD, and strong Python automation skills. Remote flexibility is offered, with a focus on delivering robust software for energy platforms.

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in Python programming language.
• Extensive experience in QA automation and test automation frameworks.
• Knowledge of web application testing concepts, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and browser automation.
• Familiarity with SDLC and Agile methodologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet project deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Designing, developing, and implementing automated test frameworks, scripts, and tools.
• Utilizing CircleCI for continuous integration and deployment of automated tests in the cloud environment.
• Participating in code reviews to ensure high-quality test code and adherence to best practices.
• Collaborating with the development team to understand software requirements and identify test cases.
• Understanding Behavior Driven Development (BDD) and developing test specs from user stories.
• Creating and maintaining test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and test data.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure comprehensive test coverage and timely delivery of quality software.
• Executing automated tests and analyzing test results to identify defects and performance issues.
• Performing manual and exploratory testing to validate new features and uncover edge cases that automation misses.
• Performing first level triage of bugs discovered through test activities.
• Driving bug resolution with the development team.
