Job summary

Cornerstone Community FCU seeks a Quality Assurance Advisor in Lockport, NY to support branch reviews, compliance and physical security.

You will conduct audits, monitor regulatory adherence (BSA/AML, CIP, Truth in Savings), and help improve processes, risk reduction, and controls.

The role may require after-hours work and travel to locations; you will collaborate with Retail Operations and Risk to maintain a secure, compliant environment.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in business, finance or related field preferred.
• 3 years of experience in a Financial Institution, Branch Operations, Compliance/Risk, is preferred.
• Exposure to physical security operations is a plus.
• Experience with audits, quality assurance or risk assessments is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine branch operational reviews to ensure controls with internal policies, regulatory requirements and procedures; assist in the branch audit program development and reporting.
• Evaluate internal controls, cash handling, documentation accuracy, and overall operational risk.
• Prepare comprehensive branch audit reports, documenting findings, trends, and corrective actions.
• Monitor and follow up on audit exceptions to ensure timely resolution and compliance.
• Maintain records of branch audits, corrective actions, and operational trends.
• Analyze audit results to identify recurring issues and propose proactive solutions.
• Monitor compliance with regulations (BSA/AML, CIP, Truth in Savings, etc.).
• Support fraud prevention initiatives and risk management efforts.
• Work with Retail Operations to ensure policies are followed; interpret procedures for staff.
• Identify procedural gaps and inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
• Collaborate on process enhancements with cross‑functional teams.
• Assist with development and updates of policies, procedures, and job aids.
