Job summary

Bakelite is seeking a QA Chemist to oversee QA/QC testing of resins and chemical products at our Taylorsville facility. You will train operators, calibrate laboratory equipment, and drive continuous improvement while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

The role requires lab experience, chemistry education, and ability to work in a manufacturing environment. You will collaborate with multiple teams to meet quality and environmental objectives and adhere to PPE guidelines in daily

Qualifications

• 4 years of laboratory or environmental experience, or an Associate degree with 2 years of laboratory/environmental experience, or a BS degree in science.
• Experience with Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Experience in a multifunctional team with minimal supervision.
• Willing to work in a manufacturing plant setting and adhere to safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Perform QA/QC testing on resins and other chemical products.
• Train operators on analytical methods and support continuous improvement.
• Perform equipment calibration and maintenance for production and QA labs.
• Maintain and operate analytical equipment including a GC.
• Use statistical and quality tools to meet or exceed quality goals.
• Review quality data in ERP system (M3/Infor) for accuracy.
• Package and ship samples per DOT and IATA requirements.
• Support Quality and Environmental departments and manage LDAR, stormwater, and universal hazardous waste programs.
