Overview: Our client, a growing FinTech company, is looking for an experienced QA Automation Engineer to join a business-critical project! Strong Agile Scrum experience is also very important.

Position Details: 100% REMOTE - QA Automation Engineer
Contract to Hire
This is a 6-month contract opportunity with potential extension. It is 100% remote, EST/CST preferred. Candidates must convert to full-time employment after 6 months without sponsorship needs.

Role Summary: The QA Automation Test Engineer is a results-oriented Software QA Engineer position, an innovative problem solver with hands-on testing experience and automation skills using Selenium. Responsibilities include designing, implementing, and executing test strategies and plans for software products. The candidate should have the ability to see both business and technical perspectives, reengineer QA methodologies, and have strong expertise in UI automation and backend testing. Strong analytical skills and a solid technical background in distributed development environments are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design and develop QA initiatives contributing to testing efforts.
2. Collaborate with the QA Manager on quality assurance aspects, including establishing metrics and applying best practices.
3. Develop and execute manual and automated test procedures, plans, and scripts.
4. Utilize automation frameworks to build Selenium automated test scripts.
5. Work closely with cross-functional teams and clients to develop schedules, execute test plans, and deliver high-quality products.
6. Monitor testing progress, identify issues, and work with teams to resolve them.
7. Track testing risks and develop mitigation plans.
8. Create and execute detailed test scripts to verify software functionality and compliance with requirements.
9. Provide mentorship and coaching to junior QA Engineers.
10. Maintain punctual attendance.

Qualifications:

• Strong expertise in automation testing with Java and Selenium.
• Proficient in testing backend components, REST APIs, and Web Services.
• Proven leadership in offshore team management.
• Adaptability to evolving environments.
• Expertise in SQA methodologies, tools, manual and automated testing.
• Knowledge of Java, JavaScript, HTML, SOAP/XML, SQL.
• Experience with QA tools such as ALM, Jira.
• Excellent communication and mentorship skills.
• Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
• Highly organized, self-motivated, customer-oriented, able to work independently and in teams.

Education & Experience:

• BS in Computer Science or equivalent.
• 4-6 years of software QA experience.
• Experience with UI testing, automated testing, TDD strategies.
• Experience in Agile and continuous integration environments.
• Experience with cross-browser testing, web services, mobile testing.
• Knowledge of Chrome DevTools, UNIX commands, Shell scripting, Eclipse, HTTP/HTTPS is a plus.
