Job summary

Clara, a leading spend management platform, seeks a QA Automation Lead to own test automation strategy across web, API, and mobile surfaces. You will shape architecture, ensure reliable automated testing, and partner with Engineering Directors, pod leads, and Product to raise the quality bar without bottlenecks.

You will mentor QA and engineering teammates, drive CI/CD integration, and establish release-blocking criteria, while aligning with platform and infra teams to enable scalable automation

Qualifications

• 6+ years in software quality engineering with deep automation experience.
• Hands-on ownership of test automation frameworks for web and API (Playwright strongly preferred; Cypress/Selenium/Webdriver.io also relevant).
• Experience designing modular, data-driven suites and tagging for smoke/regression.
• Solid programming skills in TypeScript/JavaScript; familiarity with Java/Spring or React is a plus.
• API testing expertise and familiarity with SQL/test-data design.
• CI/CD integration experience and flaky-test management.

Responsibilities

• Own QA automation strategy, architecture, and reliability of the automation platform.
• Lead framework ownership and coding standards for test code.
• Define release-blocking criteria and automation coverage.
• Mentor QA engineers and developers on automation practices.
• Drive CI/CD integration and test reporting with actionable failure triage.
