Job summary

Forbes Technical Consulting LLC in Chicago seeks a hands-on QA engineer to test web-based financial applications, validating critical workflows, usability, responsiveness, and accessibility across internal and customer interfaces.

You will develop and execute detailed test cases for standard and edge cases, identify defects, and collaborate with Product and Engineering to uphold quality standards. The role requires strong analytical skills and experience with modern tooling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 3+ years of experience in software quality assurance, software testing, or test automation.
• Hands-on experience with modern web application testing and automation.
• Experience with Playwright, Cucumber, and JUnit or comparable testing frameworks.
• Experience with both manual and automated testing methodologies.
• Working knowledge of Java and Python.
• Experience with SQL and database validation.
• Familiarity with REST APIs and WebSocket testing.
• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD environments.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with exceptional attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on manual and exploratory testing of web apps across internal and customer interfaces.
• Develop, execute, and maintain detailed test cases for standard and edge scenarios.
• Identify defects and work with dev teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
• Partner with Product and Engineering to uphold quality standards.
• Contribute to test strategy for new features and integrations.
• Monitor app behavior, data integrity, performance, and security.
• Analyze results and report defects and quality trends to stakeholders.
• Drive continuous QA improvements and test automation.
