Job summary

Forbes Technical Consulting LLC is seeking a QA Automation Engineer to extend and maintain a Java-based QA framework across trading, clearing, and instrument management systems.

You will design, develop, and execute automated and manual tests from functional and technical requirements, aiming to improve coverage and efficiency. Collaboration with Product and Engineering teams will uphold quality in high‑volume, low‑latency contexts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree plus 3+ years in software quality assurance or test automation.
• Strong programming experience with Java and Python.
• Solid SQL and database testing knowledge.
• Experience with FIX protocol or similar financial messaging protocols.
• Hands-on with automated testing frameworks and tools (Playwright, Cucumber, JUnit).
• Experience building and maintaining automated test suites.
• Strong understanding of functional, integration, regression and end-to-end testing.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration with product and engineering teams.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Extend and maintain a Java-based QA automation framework for trading, clearing, and instrument management systems.
• Design, develop, and execute automated and manual test cases from requirements.
• Improve test coverage, automation efficiency, and quality processes.
• Partner with developers and product teams to investigate and resolve defects.
• Stay current with QA methodologies, automation practices, and testing technologies.
• Test interfaces including financial messaging protocols and data formats.
• Perform automated and manual testing using Playwright for admin and customer applications.
• Validate functionality, data integrity, security, and performance under workloads.
• Execute end-to-end testing across interconnected systems to ensure reliable data flow.
• Support testing of high-volume, low-latency applications and collaborate on testing standards.
• Develop test strategies for new products, features, and integrations.
• Monitor results and communicate findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Contribute to continuous QA process improvements.
