Job summary

Juakali is seeking a QA Automation Engineer to strengthen our software testing discipline. You will design and maintain automated UI tests, primarily using Playwright or similar tools, and work across distributed teams in a remote-first, flexible environment.

You will leverage Java/Python/JS/TS for automation, integrate with Git and CI/CD pipelines, and apply QA methodologies, test planning, and defect tracking to deliver high-quality software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of software QA automation experience.
• Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, test planning, and defect tracking.
• UI automation using Playwright or similar tools (Selenium, Cypress, Appium).
• Proficiency in automation languages (Java, Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript — JavaScript/TypeScript preferred).
• Experience with version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration across distributed teams.
• Proactive and independent, with the ability to manage your own workload.

What we’re looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, orequivalent experience.

• Proven experience in software QA automation (3+ years).

• Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, test planning, and defect tracking.

• Demonstrated experience with UI automation usingPlaywrightor similar tools (Selenium, Cypress, Appium).

• Proficiency in at least one common programming language for automation (Java, Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript —JavaScript/TypeScript preferred).

• Experience with version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills, comfortable working across distributed teams.

• Proactive and independent, with the ability to manage your own workload.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience withPlaywright(if not already your main tool).

• Experience withGoogle Cloud Platform, Docker, and Kubernetes.

• Prior experience in astartup environment.

• Relevant certifications in software testing/QA (e.g., ISTQB) are a plus.
