Job summary

Betby is building a complex, high-load backend system based on a microservice architecture to enable continuous development and high-throughput processing. You will join the Risk-Management Product Group, delivering risk tools and back-office pages used by internal risk managers and operator clients.

The team is small (6-8 engineers) with high autonomy and ownership, using Python 3.13+ (asyncio, Pydantic v2), Kafka, RabbitMQ, MongoDB, Docker, Kubernetes, Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK to build

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional Python experience.
• Strong asyncio and asynchronous programming skills.
• Experience with microservice architecture (REST API, RPC).
• Solid knowledge of algorithms and data structures.
• Good understanding of SOLID, DRY, KISS, YAGNI principles.
• Experience designing internal libraries / SDKs / shared components.
• Pydantic (v2).
• Hands-on experience with stream processing.
• Solid understanding of RPC design (servers, retries, correlationId).
• Kafka and RabbitMQ experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain high-load backend services using Python (asyncio).
• Design, support, and optimize microservice components.
• Participate in architectural discussions and technical decisions.
• Implement integrations with Kafka, RabbitMQ, and internal RPC services.
• Refactor and improve services for scalability, reliability, and performance.

We are building a complex, high-load system based on a microservice architecture, where every component plays a critical role. This is not a legacy support project - it’s about continuous development of new modules, performance optimization, and high-throughput processing.

You will join the Risk-Management Product Group, which builds and develops the product - risk management tools and the back office pages used by internal risk managers and external operator clients to manage sportsbook risk.

Our team is small, but always growing and focused (6-8 engineers), operating with high autonomy, deep ownership, and a shared passion for scalable engineering.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and maintain high-load backend services using Python (asyncio)

• Design, support, and optimize microservice architecture components

• Participate in architectural discussions and technical decision-making

• Implement integrations with Kafka, RabbitMQ, and internal RPC services

REQUIREMENTS

• Python 3.11, 5+ years of professional experience

• Strong hands-on experience with asyncio and asynchronous programming (3+ years preferred)

• Experience in microservice architecture (REST API, RPC)

• Strong knowledge of algorithms and data structures

• Good understanding and practical application of SOLID, DRY, KISS, YAGNI principles

• Experience designing internal libraries / SDKs / shared components

• Pydantic (v2)

• Hands-on experience with stream processing

• Solid understanding of RPC (designing RPC servers, request/response, retries, correlationId)

• Kafka (consumer groups, delivery guarantees, schema design, experience in defining optimal partitioning strategies)

• RabbitMQ (RPC, pub/sub, DLX, retries)

• MongoDB (indexes, configs, transactions)

NICE TO HAVE

• Experience in fintech, betting, trading domains

• Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Docker, Kubernetes,GraphQL (Ariadne), ClickHouse

• CI/CD setup experience
