We are seeking a skilled Python Developer with strong programming expertise and experience in developing scalable, high-performance applications. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with Python frameworks, REST APIs, databases, cloud platforms, and modern software development practices. The candidate should be able to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and contribute throughout the software development lifecycle.

Additional Information*

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Jersey City, NJ is $110k - $120k/year & benefits (see below).

The Role

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test, and maintain Python-based applications and services.
• Build scalable RESTful APIs and microservices using Python frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, or Django.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices.
• Integrate applications with databases, third-party services, and cloud platforms.
• Collaborate with product owners, business analysts, architects, and development teams to understand requirements.
• Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize application performance.
• Develop automated unit and integration tests.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, and technical discussions.
• Create and maintain technical documentation.

Requirements:

• Strong experience with Python programming.
• Hands-on experience with Django, Flask, or FastAPI.
• Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts.
• Experience developing REST APIs and Microservices.
• Knowledge of relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQL Server.
• Experience with Git and version control systems.
• Familiarity with Docker and containerization.
• Understanding of software design patterns and development best practices.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred, but not required:

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
• Experience with message queues such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and container orchestration.
• Exposure to AI/ML frameworks and Python libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, or Scikit-learn.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
