Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3+ years of professional software development experience.
  • Strong proficiency in Java, Spring Framework/Spring Boot, RESTful services, React.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3.
  • Experience with Python for development, scripting, or data processing.
  • Proficiency with relational databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL/Oracle).
  • Familiarity with Git and modern development workflows.
  • Experience writing unit tests and applying test-driven/automated testing practices.

Our challenge We are seeking a skilled Java Developer with experience in Python and React to design, develop, test, and maintain scalable web applications. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Java-based backend development, hands‑on experience building applications with Python, and proficiency in developing responsive user interfaces using React. Candidate will collaborate with product managers, software engineers, QA professionals, and DevOps teams to deliver secure, high-quality, and maintainable software solutions.

Additional Information

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Charlotte, NC is $90k - $95k/year & benefits (see below).

The Role Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise-grade applications using Java and Spring Boot.
  • Build and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices.
  • Develop front-end applications and reusable UI components using React.js.
  • Use Python to develop automation scripts, backend services, data-processing tools, or integrations.
  • Translate business and technical requirements into scalable software solutions.
  • Design and optimize databases, queries, and data models.
  • Integrate applications with third‑party services and internal systems.
  • Write clean, efficient, reusable, and well‑documented code.
  • Perform unit, integration, and performance testing.
  • Troubleshoot application issues and provide timely resolutions.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams in an Agile/Scrum environment.
  • Support CI/CD pipelines, deployments, monitoring, and production releases.
  • Maintain technical documentation and contribute to system architecture decisions.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3+ years of professional software development experience.
  • Strong proficiency in: Java Spring Framework/Spring Boot RESTful web services React.js JavaScript or TypeScript HTML5 and CSS3.
  • Experience with Python for application development, scripting, automation, or data processing.
  • Strong understanding of object‑oriented programming, design patterns, and software development principles.
  • Experience working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Oracle.
  • Familiarity with Git and modern development workflows.
  • Experience writing unit tests and following test-driven or automated testing practices.
  • Knowledge of Agile software development methodologies.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
  • Strong ownership and accountability.

Preferred, but not required
  • Experience designing and developing microservices.
  • Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, or containerized application deployment.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
  • Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Redis, or DynamoDB.
  • Knowledge of messaging systems such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
  • Familiarity with authentication and authorization standards, including OAuth2 and JWT.
  • Experience with application monitoring and logging tools.
  • Understanding of software security, performance optimization, and scalability.
  • Experience working with Agile tools such as Jira and Confluence.
