Job summary

Kennametal Inc. in Orwell, OH is seeking a Manufacturing Machine Operator II to work on PVD coating processes. You will build heats for PVD furnaces, load inserts into fixtures, and perform quality checks to ensure coated parts meet specifications.

Schedule is 6:40 AM to 6:40 PM with rotating shifts. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, with a 2-year technical degree preferred, and offers benefits from day one and a 401(k) match.

Qualifications

• Must have High School diploma or GED.
• 2-year technical degree preferred.
• Experience with PVD coating processes is a plus.
• Ability to read process instructions and work with fixtures.

Responsibilities

• Build heats for PVD furnaces.
• Place inserts in fixtures according to process.
• Perform quality inspection and quantity verification prior to coating.
• Originate documentation for heats through the Coating Focused Factory.
• Visually inspect coated inserts with unaided eye and microscope.
• Record routing, style and required data.
• Transfer inserts to the next work center.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and communicate issues across shifts.
• Operate other equipment as needed.
