Job summary

Kennametal Inc. in Ohio seeks a Manufacturing Chemical Process Operator II to operate PVD coating furnaces and coat carbide inserts. This 12-hour night shift runs 6:40 PM–6:40 AM on a rotating schedule, with a $3.00/hr shift premium and comprehensive benefits starting Day 1.

The role requires loading fixtures, monitoring processes, maintaining gas supplies, recording data, and ensuring quality thickness and adhesion of coatings. Rigorous safety and environmental controls apply.

Qualifications

• Must have High School diploma or GED.
• 2 year technical degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload fixtures into furnaces.
• Ensure product is set up correctly and clean.
• Enter product weights and coating cycle data into computer.
• Start and monitor the coating process.
• Clean fixtures and base plates between heats.
• Ensure adequate gas supply.
• Replace gas tanks as needed.
• Check coating thickness and adhesion meet specs.
• Perform batch cleanings as required.
• Operate other equipment as needed.
