Job summary

Booz Allen Hamilton is seeking a Microsoft Purview and Data Protection Engineer to design, implement, and automate enterprise data‑protection, DLP, and governance across Microsoft 365 environments for IL5/IL6 GovCloud readiness.

You will partner with security, records managers, and cloud engineers to translate policy into technical enforcement, build SITs and encryption strategies, and mentor tomorrow’s cloud‑security experts while supporting national mission needs.

Qualifications

10+ years of DoD/Navy experience.
10+ years in enterprise information protection, data governance, or cloud security with tools such as Microsoft 365 or Purview.
Experience with Microsoft Purview.
Experience designing and deploying SITs, sensitivity labels, EDM, and DLP across M365 workloads and endpoints.
Experience with Microsoft Entra ID, RBAC, and Conditional Access.
Knowledge of eDiscovery, legal holds, advanced search, and audit log investigations.
Top Secret clearance.
Bachelor’s degree.
Security+ DoD 8570‑compliant certification.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and optimize enterprise information‑protection, DLP, insider risk, and governance controls across Microsoft 365.
Build SITs, retention and records‑management policies, and label‑driven encryption.
Mentor and guide others in cloud‑security best practices and Purview engineering.
Recommend tools, automations, and governance approaches for IL5/IL6 GovCloud environments.
