Job summary

Grant Thornton is seeking a Cyber Data Protection Manager focused on Microsoft Purview to help clients design and implement enterprise data governance and compliance strategies using Microsoft cloud-native tools.

You will work with cross-functional teams to assess data protection risks, define governance frameworks, and deploy Purview solutions that support regulatory compliance and business resilience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, information systems, business or related field.
• Certifications such as SC-400, CIPP, CIPM, CISSP, CISM or equivalent required.
• 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, data governance or compliance consulting.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview and Microsoft 365 compliance solutions.
• Strong understanding of data privacy regulations and risk management frameworks.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Copilot for Compliance and AI-driven governance tools.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to translate technical concepts for business stakeholders.
• Experience in project management and cross-functional team leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead the implementation of Microsoft Purview capabilities, including Information Protection & Sensitivity Labels, DLP, Insider Risk Management, eDiscovery and Records Management.
• Develop governance frameworks and data classification, retention and access policies.
• Align Purview with regulatory frameworks such as GDPR, HIPAA, CCPA, and ISO 27001.
• Conduct current-state assessments of data governance and compliance programs.
• Develop future-state roadmaps and implementation plans for Purview adoption.
• Collaborate with client stakeholders to define data policies and classifications.
• Support integration of Purview with Microsoft 365, Azure and third-party platforms.
• Deliver workshops and training sessions on Microsoft compliance tools.
