Job summary

SWA Los Angeles is seeking a highly organized Pursuits & Proposal Manager to lead the development of qualifications, proposals, interviews, and pursuit strategies that position the Los Angeles studio for growth.

This role requires experience in AEC, Landscape Architecture, or Planning, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, and delivering compelling RFQ/RFP packages that reflect quality and technical excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Landscape Architecture, Architecture, Urban Planning, Environmental Design, Engineering, Communications, or related discipline.
• 3–7 years of experience managing proposals or pursuits within AEC, planning, or landscape architecture.
• Demonstrated experience coordinating RFQ/RFP submissions and interview presentations.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop).

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage RFQ/RFP submissions from opportunity identification through final submission.
• Coordinate proposal kick-off meetings, milestone tracking, and provide strategic input for interviews.
• Support Go/No-Go discussions and assist leadership in prioritizing pursuit opportunities.
• Write, edit, and organize proposal narratives in collaboration with principals and project teams.
• Coordinate with SWA’s firmwide Marketing & Communications team and proposal professionals across offices.
• Support strategic initiatives that strengthen the firm’s pursuit capabilities.
• Develop relationships with consultants, subconsultants, engineers, and strategic partners.
• Attend pre-proposal meetings.

This role is ideal for someone with experience in the Architecture, Engineering, Construction (AEC), Landscape Architecture, or Planning industry who understands that successful pursuits begin long before an RFP is released. The ideal candidate will help organize, coordinate, and elevate the studio’s proposal processwhileworkingcloselywithprincipals,projectmanagers,consultants,andthefirm’smarketingand communications teams.

Position Summary:

ThePursuits&ProposalManagerservesastheoperationalleadforthestudio’sproposalprocess—from opportunity identification through proposal submission and interview preparation.

Qualifications:

Preferred:
