Job summary

North Hill Needham Inc. is seeking a PurposeFULL Living Intern to support resident engagement and program development within the PurposeFULL Living Department.

The intern will receive mentorship throughout the experience and complete a final project with recommendations presented to department leadership. The role involves creating projects, conducting research, assisting with documentation and evaluation, and participating in weekly mentorship meetings to understand departmental operations.

Qualifications

  • Current student or recent graduate enrolled in human services, psychology, gerontology, recreation, communications, music therapy, arts, or related field preferred.
  • Experience with project-based work or program development preferred.
  • Proficient with computer software programs.

Responsibilities

  • Create assigned PurposeFULL Living projects focused on workflow improvement, documentation, engagement systems, or programming.
  • Conduct research, gather data, and evaluate program effectiveness.
  • Assist with program development, documentation, and evaluation.
  • Participate in weekly mentorship meetings and follow-up discussions with departmental leadership.
  • Collaborate with Team Members to gather feedback and understand operational needs.
  • Observe PurposeFULL Living programming to understand departmental operations.
  • Provide project updates during scheduled check-ins.
  • Develop a final project and deliver the findings to departmental stakeholders.

Job description

PurposeFULL Living Intern

The PurposeFULL Living Intern supports the PurposeFULL Living Department by assisting with projects that enhance resident engagement, improve department processes, and support new programming. The intern receives mentorship throughout the experience and completes a final project with recommendations presented to department leadership.

Job Specific Duties

  • Create assigned PurposeFULL Living projects focused on workflow improvement, documentation, engagement systems, or programming
  • Conduct research, gather data, and evaluate program effectiveness
  • Assist with program development, documentation, and evaluation
  • Participate in weekly mentorship meetings and follow-up discussions with departmental leadership
  • Collaborate with Team Members to gather feedback and understand operational needs
  • Observe PurposeFULL Living programming to understand departmental operations
  • Provide project updates during scheduled check-ins
  • Develop a final project and deliver the findings to departmental stakeholders
  • Meets department uniform, appearance and grooming requirements
  • Complies with all OSHA safety regulations, local applicable laws regarding health, safety or environment
Required Skills And Abilities

  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with Team Members, Residents, family members, visitors, and the general public

  • When working in Resident areas, must be able to communicate effectively in English
  • Attends and participates in in-service educational classes, Healthcare Academy and staff meetings as directed
Education And Experience
  • Current student or recent graduate enrolled in human services, psychology, gerontology, recreation, communications, music therapy, arts, or a related field preferred
  • Experience with project-based work or program development preferred
  • Proficient with computer software programs

Satisfactory completion of a background investigation is required for this position.

Pay Range

Pay Range: $19-$20/hour

Individual compensation within this range is based on a candidate’s specific qualifications, including education, overall experience, relevant experience, and specific skills. We strive to ensure that compensation is competitive, fair, and reflects the value each candidate brings to the role.
