Position: Feed Sales Representative - Purina Animal Nutrition

We are hiring a Feed Sales Representative focused on Beef Cattle & Equine feed sales within our partner co-op in Marshfield, WI. This remote, field-based sales role involves selling feed and related products to optimize market share, improve efficiency, and support the co-op's mission and goals.

Responsibilities

1. Call on Beef Cattle, Equine, and Small Ruminant owners to evaluate feeding programs and recommend nutritional solutions.
2. Conduct up to 25 farm calls per week to sell Purina products, develop prospects, and grow sales.
3. Organize and lead educational meetings for local clubs, vets, trainers, and other stakeholders to promote Purina's brand and products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Animal Science or related field preferred; candidates with pending degrees or relevant experience may be considered.
• Previous sales experience highly desired.
• Knowledge of nutritional and feeding recommendations for cattle and equine.
• Understanding of animal husbandry, management practices, and industry standards.
• Strong computer skills, including MS Office and familiarity with software like HerdSmart and Salesforce.
• Experience with Cattle, Equine, and Lifestyle animals.

Skills & Competencies

• Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills.
• Ability to build relationships and network within the industry.
• Comfortable with on-farm interactions and public speaking.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Travel Expectation

Approximately 15% overnight travel, plus daily travel within the assigned territory.

Compensation

This sales role offers a base salary plus commission, with a typical range of $53,000-$60,000 plus a target bonus of $10,000. Salaries are generally offered near the middle of this range based on experience.
