Job summary

Evotec in Redmond, WA is seeking an Associate Scientist, Purification Process Design to join our downstream process design team. You will develop purification processes for mammalian-derived antibodies in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment.

You will operate AKTA Avant and other systems, record data meticulously, and contribute to cost-reducing process improvements while transferring processes to manufacturing. Strong communication and hands-on optimization skills are essential.

Qualifications

• BS or MS degree in Engineering, Biochemistry, Biotechnology or related field.
• Knowledge of mammalian-derived downstream purification development, resin modalities (affinity, IEX, MM, HIC) and chromatography purification theory.
• Depth filtration theory and UF/DF.
• Experience with viral filtration and single-pass TFF operations.
• Excellent experimental design and analysis; JMP is preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
• Strong communicator, written and verbal; able to share complex ideas simply.
• Self-starter who takes initiative and owns projects.

Responsibilities

• Purification process development for biotherapeutics.
• Record lab work in ELNs and batch records.
• Prepare buffers and assemble chromatography hardware.
• Operate AKTA Avant and Unicorn, PMAT, NFF, Repligen TFF systems.
• Analyze data and present findings; contribute to reports.
