Job summary

Hitachi Energy in Alamo, Tennessee is seeking a Purchasing Team Leader to oversee procurement activities supporting our manufacturing operations and supply chain performance.

You will guide a team of buyers, build strong supplier partnerships, and ensure materials and services are delivered cost-effectively and on time. You will collaborate with Planning, Inventory, and Operations to develop sourcing strategies and drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced plant environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and manufacturing procurement experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience leading purchasing, procurement, or supply chain activities.
• Experience with SAP or ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support a team of buyers responsible for plant purchasing activities.
• Develop strong relationships with suppliers and negotiate favorable terms.
• Review purchasing contracts and purchase orders to ensure policy compliance.
• Manage procurement processes for materials, equipment, and supplies.
• Partner with Planning and Inventory teams to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Resolve supplier concerns and support effective vendor management.
• Evaluate bids, supplier proposals, and sourcing strategies.
• Monitor market trends, purchasing performance, and departmental budgets.
