Job summary

Emergent Staffing in Seattle, WA, seeks a Purchasing Agent to join a growing team on a direct-hire basis. The role supports inventory procurement, vendor management, PO processing, inbound shipments, and inventory operations, working onsite Monday–Friday with occasional remote Fridays at manager's discretion.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years in purchasing or related fields, experience with ERP, and strong Excel/Outlook skills; must be able to collaborate in a fast-paced environment and move work

Qualifications

• 1–3 years in purchasing, procurement, or inventory management.
• Experience using an ERP system.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
• Strong detail orientation and organizational skills.
• Able to work independently and take initiative.
• Excellent communication and collaboration within a close-knit team.

Responsibilities

• Create, process, and manage purchase orders.
• Coordinate with vendors regarding orders, deliveries, and inventory requirements.
• Assist with inbound shipment tracking, consolidation, and reconciliation activities.
• Work closely with accounting to resolve invoice and receiving discrepancies.
• Partner with warehouse teams to ensure incoming inventory matches expected quantities and specifications.
• Support international purchasing activities involving suppliers and shipments from Europe and China.
• Maintain purchasing-related data within ERP and inventory management systems.
• Assist with inventory planning and preparation for seasonal business cycles, e-commerce demand, and wholesale fulfillment.
• Support procurement activities related to company trade shows and product samples.
• Develop strong vendor relationships and contribute to continuous improvement of purchasing processes.
