Job summary

Emergent Staffing is seeking a Buying/Purchasing Agent to join our Seattle team. The role supports inventory procurement, vendor management, PO processing, inbound shipments, and stock accuracy in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate has 1–3 years in purchasing or inventory, experience with ERP systems, and strong Excel/Outlook skills. This is a direct-hire, onsite role with occasional remote Fridays at the manager's discretion.

**This is a direct hire position with one of our clients in Seattle, WA. This role will report onsite M-F with occasional remote work on Fridays at the managers discretion. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.**

Our client is seeking a Purchasing Agent to join their growing team in Seattle, WA. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career professional who has some purchasing, procurement, inventory, or supply chain experience and is looking to continue developing their career within a collaborative and fast-paced environment. The Purchasing Agent will work closely with our existing purchasing team member to support inventory procurement, vendor management, purchase order processing, inbound shipments, and inventory operations.

Responsibilities

• Create, process, and manage purchase orders.

• Coordinate with vendors regarding orders, deliveries, and inventory requirements.

• Assist with inbound shipment tracking, consolidation, and reconciliation activities.

• Work closely with accounting to resolve invoice and receiving discrepancies.

• Partner with warehouse teams to ensure incoming inventory matches expected quantities and specifications.

• Support international purchasing activities involving suppliers and shipments from Europe and China.

• Maintain purchasing-related data within ERP and inventory management systems.

• Assist with inventory planning and preparation for seasonal business cycles, e-commerce demand, and wholesale fulfillment.

• Support procurement activities related to company trade shows and product samples.

• Develop strong vendor relationships and contribute to continuous improvement of purchasing processes.

Qualifications

• Approximately 1-3 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, inventory management, supply chain, or a related business function.

• Experience working within an ERP system.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Outlook.

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Ability to take initiative and move work forward independently.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

• Ability to work effectively within a close-knit team environment.

Preferred

• Experience with Microsoft Great Plains (GP).

• Experience with SalesPad or similar inventory management platforms.

• Purchasing or procurement experience within manufacturing, retail, consumer products, or inventory-driven businesses.

• Experience coordinating shipments, inventory replenishment, vendor communications, and receiving activities.
