Job summary

Elliott Equipment Company is seeking a Purchasing Specialist to manage procurement of materials, services, and tools to meet production needs. You will source suppliers, negotiate contracts, and maintain inventory in alignment with schedules and quality standards.

You will collaborate with Design, Manufacturing, Finance, and Production Control to drive cost savings and supplier performance while upholding safety and continuous improvement in a lean environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain or related field preferred
  • 2-4 years of related experience preferred
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent presentation, written and oral communication skills
  • Superior analytical planning and problem solving abilities
  • Strong negotiating skills
  • Ability to comprehend and use advanced inventory planning tools
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
  • Strong time management skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Self starter with the ability to work independently
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to meet timelines and prioritize work requirements

Responsibilities

  • Initiates purchase orders for materials services and special tools
  • Maintains close coordination with Design and Manufacturing Engineering to ensure timely execution of product and services sourcing activities
  • Secures and analyzes quotations and negotiates pricing and terms with suppliers
  • Interviews and confers with current and prospective suppliers to determine supply capabilities
  • Follow department processes to monitor and develop suppliers
  • Visits current and potential suppliers facilities to qualify them as sources
  • Participates in projects and continuous improvement processes
  • Executes cost savings initiatives to meet annual cost savings goals
  • Complete special projects assignments and other duties as assigned

PURCHASING SPECIALIST

OVERALL SUMMARY The Purchasing Specialist is responsible for the procurement of goods and services to meet the companys operational needs ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards This role includes sourcing suppliers negotiating contracts and managing inventory levels to align with production schedules and company requirements The Purchasing Specialist works closely with cross functional teams such as Manufacturing Engineering Finance and Production Control to ensure efficient supply chain operations and support organizational goals
