Job summary

Phenomenex, a Danaher operating company in Torrance, CA, is seeking a Manager of Purchasing and Materials. You will lead the Purchasing and Materials team, manage raw and OEM inventory, and ensure on-time delivery while optimizing stock levels and warehouse activities.

Reporting to the VP of Supply Chain, this on-site role emphasizes DBS-based process improvements, supplier partnerships, and cross-functional collaboration to drive efficiency and value. Strong ERP/Lean experience is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field preferred; 5+ years of leadership experience in purchasing, materials, or supply chain management within a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop, and coach the Purchasing and Materials team to achieve operational excellence and drive employee engagement.
• Develop and execute strategic plans to improve supplier performance, on-time delivery, inventory management, and working capital productivity.
• Establish and improve best-practice purchasing, planning, inventory management, and cycle counting processes using DBS methodologies.
• Build and maintain strategic supplier partnerships to achieve quality, delivery, cost, and service objectives.
• Develop KPI reporting and performance management systems to provide actionable insights for data-driven decisions.
