Job summary

Paylocity in Indiana seeks a Purchasing Manager to lead procurement, inventory management, S&OP, demand forecasting, and supplier selection. You will drive cost reductions, supplier performance, and risk mitigation while guiding the department toward operational excellence.

The role requires collaboration with Operations, Sales, and vendors, maintaining ERP records, issuing Purchase Orders, analyzing trends, and reporting KPIs to inform strategic decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Purchasing, or related field preferred; or an equivalent combination of coursework and experience.
• APICS CSCP or ISM CPSM (preferred)
• Lean Six Sigma (preferred)
• OSHA 10 Hour (Preferred)

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements purchasing strategies aligned with requirements and financial objectives.
• Researches, evaluates, and selects supply vendors to meet standards and objectives.
• Analyzes vendor risk and creates sourcing strategies to minimize disruption.
• Procures raw materials, components, and finished goods for manufacturing and distribution.
• Negotiates pricing, contracts, and terms to optimize cost, quality, and delivery.
• Maintains supplier relationships to ensure reliability and performance.
• Acts as liaison between Operations, Sales, and vendors for material needs.
• Collaborates with Operations to forecast needs and maximize purchasing leverage.
• Maintains ERP vendor records and updates pricing and costing data.
• Generates Purchase Orders and reports major material trends to Ops.
• Monitors inventory levels and replenishment to align with demand forecasts.
• Supports Lean initiatives and tracks purchasing metrics for senior management.
