Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR is seeking a hands-on Procurement Lead to oversee all sourcing activities for our San Diego operation. You will mentor two Buyers, negotiate terms, and develop strategic supplier networks to improve cost, quality, delivery, and supply-chain reliability.

You will drive total landed cost analysis, monitor tariffs and freight costs, and collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Finance and Sales to meet production and customer requirements while maintaining strict

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Five or more years in progressive procurement in manufacturing.
• PCB/PCBA or electronics procurement experience preferred.
• Experience supporting high-value, low-volume or high-mix manufacturing.
• Strong negotiation of pricing, contracts, lead times, and terms.
• Knowledge of tariffs, duties and total landed cost.
• Hands-on ERP/MRP experience.
• Experience mentoring purchasing professionals.
• Analytical, problem-solving and supplier-management skills.
• Ability to collaborate across Operations, Engineering, Quality, Finance and Sales.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must reside in or relocate to the San Diego area.
• On-site work requirement; not remote.

Responsibilities

• Lead all procurement and strategic-sourcing activities for the San Diego operation.
• Manage, mentor, and develop two Buyers.
• Negotiate supplier pricing, contracts, payment terms, lead times, and service agreements.
• Develop sourcing strategies to improve cost, quality, delivery, and supply-chain reliability.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with domestic and international suppliers.
• Identify, qualify, and develop alternative suppliers to reduce cost and risk.
• Manage material availability for a high-value, low-volume manufacturing environment.
• Monitor tariffs, duties, freight costs, and international trade developments affecting purchasing decisions.
• Evaluate total landed cost and recommend sourcing strategies that minimize tariff and transportation exposure.
• Partner with Operations, Planning, Engineering, Quality, Finance, and Sales to support production and customer requirements.
• Use ERP data to manage purchase orders, inventory levels, lead times, supplier performance, and material requirements.
• Establish and track procurement KPIs (PPV, supplier quality, on-time delivery, lead-time reduction, cost savings).
• Resolve supplier quality, delivery, pricing, and capacity issues.
• Support supplier audits, contract reviews, forecasting, and annual budgeting.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with policies, quality requirements, and customer/regulatory standards.

4. Experience supporting high-value, low-volume or high-mix manufacturing.
5. Demonstrated success negotiating pricing, contracts, lead times, and commercial terms.
6. Strong knowledge of domestic and international sourcing, tariffs, duties, and total landed cost.
7. Hands-on ERP/MRP system experience.
8. Previous experience managing or mentoring purchasing professionals.
9. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and supplier-management skills.
10. Ability to work effectively across Operations, Engineering, Quality, Finance, and Sales.
11. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
12. Must live in or be willing to relocate to the San Diego area.
13. Must be available to work in the office; this is not a remote position.
