Job summary

Sanmina Corporation in Costa Mesa, CA is seeking a Buyer to lead PCB Fab materials procurement, including laminate, prepreg, copper foils, and related items, while supporting capital equipment purchases and service contracts.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor's degree in Business and 5+ years in manufacturing purchasing, with PCB FAB experience preferred. Proficiency in Oracle or ERP systems, strong negotiation, and excellent communication are essential.

Responsibilities

• Analyze demand/MRP data to determine optimal safety stock, inventory levels, and order quantities.
• Develop and maintain strong vendor relationships and communicate with Brokers/Distributors.
• Make purchasing transactions that meet quality, schedule, and cost objectives.
• Collaborate with internal teams to reduce costs and inventory levels.
• Identify root cause of material shortages and implement solutions.
• Resolve quality issues with QA and Engineering; issue RMAs.
• Maintain purchasing data in Oracle system.
• Run monthly reports and create new reports per management requests.
• Coordinate with Planning, Estimating, Engineering, and Sales for pricing and forecast data.
• Process Indirect Purchase Requisitions (IPR) for non-inventory purchasing.
• Perform quarterly cost updates of all materials.
• Set up new vendors with VCCS team.
• Work with AP to resolve vendor payments.
• Conduct supplier performance reviews.
• Prepare for ISO and AS9100 audits.

Job Purpose

This position will focus on procurement of PCB FAB materials including Laminate, Prepreg, Copper Foils, and other PCB Fab support items (supplies, drill bits, solder mask, etc) as a main responsibility. Will also support the Purchasing Manager on Capital Equipment procurement, service contracts and other projects as necessary.

Nature Of Duties/Responsibilities

• Analyze demand/MRP data through Oracle ERP system on a daily basis to determine optimal safety stock, inventory levels, and order quantities utilizing supply base and commodity specific knowledge.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with core vendors through daily communication as well as monthly or quarterly product roadmap and supply/demand review meetings. Also establish and maintain good relationships with Brokers/Distributors.
• Make timely purchasing transactions which achieve company quality, schedule, cost, and strategic objectives.
• Works with internal organizations and suppliers to continuously reduce costs and inventory levels.
• Determines root cause of material shortages and implements solutions.
• Resolves quality issues with purchased materials together with QA and Engineering,
• Issues RMA and deploys corrective process improvements with vendors.
• Maintains purchasing related data in the company’s Oracle system.
• Runs Monthly Reports and develops new reports based on management requests for both internal and corporate requirements.
• Works closely with the Planning, Estimating, Engineering, and Sales teams for detailed pricing and forecast data.
• Indirect Purchase Requisition (IPR) for all non-inventory purchasing
• Quarterly cost update of all materials and inventory items in the system
• New vendor set up with Sanmina VCCS team
• Work with Sanmina AP to resolve the pending payments to vendors
• Supplier performance review
• Prepare for the internal/external audits such as ISO and AS9100

Education And Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field
• 5+ years experience in manufacturing purchasing and materials control, or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
• PCB FAB experience preferred
• Excellent Microsoft Office Skills
• Experience with Oracle or other equivalent ERP system preferred
• Strong relationship building skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects/deadlines and deliver high quality results.
• Strong negotiation skills

Salary Range(annual): $65,000.00 - $76,000.00

Actual base pay within this range (determined at the offer stage) will be based on a candidate's years of relevant work experience, education, certifications, and skills, and is just one element of our total rewards package. The total rewards package also includes a variety of benefits, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business and, depending on the role, may include eligibility for restricted stock unit awards and participation in a discretionary bonus program.
