Job summary

Brainpower360 is seeking an experienced procurement professional in California to manage electro-mechanical component sourcing and daily MRP activities. You will build schedules, place POs, and drive supplier collaboration to support production.

You will develop strategies to mitigate supply risks, onboard global suppliers, negotiate terms, and monitor market trends to ensure component availability and BOM cost control.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field.
  • 2–5+ years of purchasing experience, preferably in electronics or manufacturing.
  • Experience working with suppliers
  • Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite)
  • Advanced Excel and data analysis skills

Responsibilities

  • Source and procure electro-mechanical components (e.g., semiconductors, PCBs, connectors, passive components, metals, wire, inverters).
  • Run the daily MRP and create and maintain the job board and PO placement, build schedules and drive to completion.
  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies to mitigate supply chain risks and component shortages.
  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers, including global and contract manufacturers.
  • Negotiate pricing, lead times, and long-term supply agreements.
  • Monitor market trends, including component availability, lifecycle status, and pricing fluctuations.
  • Manage supplier performance (quality, delivery, cost, and responsiveness).
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and planning teams to support new product introductions (NPI).
  • Ensure availability of components to meet production schedules and minimize downtime.
  • Review and manage BOM costs and identify cost-reduction opportunities.
  • Handle obsolescence management and recommend alternate or substitute components.
  • Maintain accurate procurement data in ERP/MRP systems.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., RoHS, REACH) and company policies.
