Job summary

gpac LLC is seeking a Purchasing Manager for a growing commercial/industrial mechanical contractor in the Dallas–Fort Worth area. This on-site role focuses on centralizing purchasing across multiple projects, strengthening supplier relationships, and building a small team over time.

You will manage pipe, valves, fittings, and related plumbing/mechanical materials, negotiate pricing, and coordinate with project teams to align material requirements with construction schedules.

Qualifications

• Commercial/industrial plumbing and piping knowledge is a must.
• Hands-on purchasing with vendor negotiations and pricing experience.
• Experience improving purchasing procedures, inventory processes, or supplier agreements.
• Ability to work with construction teams and understand project material requirements.
• Strong organizational skills and experience with purchasing or ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and improve purchasing processes across multiple commercial construction projects.
• Manage purchasing of pipe, valves, fittings, and other plumbing/mechanical materials.
• Negotiate vendor pricing, manufacturer agreements, purchasing terms, and rebates.
• Coordinate purchasing with Project Managers, Preconstruction, and Accounting.
• Improve material forecasting, pricing consistency, and supplier relationships.
• Move purchasing from individual project teams into a centralized operation.
• Establish purchasing workflows and support the implementation of purchasing systems.
• Help hire and develop a small purchasing team.
