Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field required.
- 10+ years in preconstruction or mechanical construction.
- Deep expertise in HVAC, plumbing, piping and sheet metal.
- Experience with design-build/design-assist projects.
- Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office suite.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management.
Responsibilities
- Lead budgeting, pricing and scope definition for mechanical systems.
- Analyze drawings and requirements to set accurate estimates.
- Collaborate with owners, architects, engineers and contractors for cost-effective solutions.
- Identify value-engineering and constructability improvements.
- Coordinate mechanical design and project teams; drive sustainability initiatives (LEED-related).
- Prepare bids, manage subcontractor/vendor coordination and assess risks.
- Present to clients and support strategic project pursuits.
- Oversee project turnover and support construction phases; mentor staff.
