Job summary

Lingo Staffing, Inc. seeks an experienced Purchasing Manager to oversee procurement operations, supplier relationships, inventory planning, and international logistics for our manufacturing clients in Ohio.

You will ensure timely, cost-effective material sourcing while maintaining quality standards. The ideal candidate has strong negotiation and analytics skills, hands-on experience with HTS classifications, import/export compliance, ERP software, and ISO procedures.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of purchasing or supply chain experience, preferably in medical devices or home health care.
• Textile industry experience is highly preferred.
• Experience with HTS classifications, international shipping, and import/export compliance is strongly preferred.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and vendor management skills.
• Knowledge of inventory planning and procurement best practices.
• Familiarity with ERP or purchasing software.
• Understanding of ISO quality systems is a plus.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage all purchasing activities, including sourcing, supplier negotiations, pricing, and PO processing.
• Monitor inventory levels and ensure material availability.
• Develop and maintain vendor relationships to improve cost, quality, and lead times.
• Coordinate domestic and international shipments, ensuring proper import/export documentation and trade compliance.
• Classify products using HTS codes and ensure customs compliance.
• Analyze supplier performance, pricing trends, and market conditions to support strategic purchasing decisions.
• Maintain purchasing records and procurement documentation per ISO standards.
• Partner with warehouse operations to verify shipments and resolve discrepancies.
• Support contract administration and ensure purchasing activities comply with policies, legal requirements, and ethical standards.
• Assist with ISO audits and continuous improvement initiatives.

This role is responsible for ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of materials while maintaining quality standards and supporting efficient production operations. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with strong negotiation skills and experience managing domestic and international purchasing activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all purchasing activities, including sourcing, supplier negotiations, pricing, and purchase order processing.
• Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with internal departments to ensure material availability and uninterrupted operations.
• Develop and maintain strong vendor relationships while identifying new suppliers to improve cost, quality, and lead times.
• Coordinate domestic and international shipments, ensuring proper import/export documentation and trade compliance.
• Classify products using Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) codes and ensure compliance with customs regulations.
• Analyze supplier performance, pricing trends, and market conditions to support strategic purchasing decisions.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records, supplier files, and procurement documentation in accordance with company and ISO standards.
• Partner with warehouse operations to verify incoming shipments, inspect materials, and resolve discrepancies or non-conforming products.
• Support contract administration and ensure purchasing activities comply with company policies, legal requirements, and ethical standards.
• Assist with ISO audits and continuous improvement initiatives as needed.
