Stanley Martin Homes is seeking a detail-oriented Purchasing Manager to lead contracting, purchasing, and cost-control efforts across our residential construction projects. You will manage budgets, finalize master agreements, and partner with trade vendors to optimize pricing and timelines.

The role requires strong Excel/Word/PowerPoint skills, excellent written and verbal communication, and the ability to multitask across departments.

• Purchasing Manager or construction experience in residential construction.
• Project management skills to demonstrate experiences with managing projects effectively.
• Excel and Word and PowerPoint skills.
• Strong communication skills verbally and in writing.
• Creative thinking skills that show the ability to generate new ideas and approaches to problemsolve.
• Adaptability and eagerness to learn and pick up new skills as work environment changes.

Responsibilities

• Oversee contracting and purchasing to ensure smooth production of homes.
• Manage budgets, finalize contracts, and maintain master agreements.
• Collaborate with trade partners to negotiate pricing and drive cost-saving initiatives.
• Coordinate bids, market-test costs, and update ERP systems to align with company goals.
• Address material shortages and process work order revisions; support key meetings.
• Collaborate with Land, Production, Sales, and Back Office to keep division operating effectively.
