Job summary

Stanley Martin Homes is seeking a General Manager to lead a division, align daily operations with long‑term goals, and drive performance across sales, construction, land and purchasing. You will coach leaders, guide budgeting decisions, and collaborate with trade partners to deliver excellent homebuyer experiences.

The role requires a strong business sense, 8+ years in homebuilding across multiple areas, and the ability to unite teams around shared objectives in a fast-growing company.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, construction or related field.
• MBA preferred, but not required.
• Minimum 8 years homebuilding experience in at least 2 business areas (e.g., sales and production or purchasing and finance).
• Experience in a “leader of leaders” role.
• Ability to read and interpret financial statements, manage budgets, and understand financial implications of operational decisions.

Responsibilities

• Guide the division’s daily operations and align on long-range goals.
• Review sales, construction, land, and purchasing activity to assess performance and needs.
• Coach leaders, support hiring decisions, and foster relationships with trade partners and external stakeholders.
• Lead strategic planning sessions, financial reviews, and cross‑functional collaboration to improve execution.
