Job summary

Stanley Martin Homes, LLC is seeking a General Manager to guide daily operations while keeping long-range goals in focus. The role involves reviewing sales, construction, land, and purchasing activity to understand performance and drive improvements.

You will lead discussions with department heads, coach leaders, and strengthen relationships with trade partners and external stakeholders to ensure quality, customer experience, and on-time cycle times.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a business, finance, construction, or related field is required.
• MBA preferred but not required.
• Minimum 8 years of homebuilding experience across at least two business areas (sales/production or purchasing/finance).
• Experience in a “leader of leaders” role and reading/interpretation of financial statements.

Responsibilities

• Guide division daily operations with focus on long-range goals.
• Review sales, construction, land, and purchasing activity to gauge performance and identify needs for support or adjustments.
• Meet with department leaders to align on priorities and address operational challenges affecting quality, customer experience, or cycle time.
• Monitor local market trends and competitive activity to inform land strategy and future planning.
• Coach and develop leaders; support hiring decisions; build relationships with trade partners, brokers, and external stakeholders.
• Participate in strategic planning sessions and financial reviews with the leadership team to drive execution.
