Job summary

Applied Optoelectronics, Inc. (AOI) in Sugar Land, TX is seeking a Purchasing Specialist to support the procure-to-pay process.

You will review supplier invoices for accuracy, coordinate with buyers to update purchase orders, and help ensure timely payment processing. This onsite role requires collaboration with Accounts Payable and procurement teams, attention to detail, and proficiency with Excel and SAP.

Qualifications

• Strong written and verbal communication with suppliers and internal teams.
• Excellent organizational skills with ability to track multiple items and deadlines.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, for reporting and data entry.
• Ability to review transactions, identify discrepancies, resolve routine issues, and escalate when needed.

Responsibilities

• Review supplier invoices against POs, receiving records, quotes, and docs.
• Resolve discrepancies by coordinating corrections across Procurement, AP, suppliers, and Receiving.
• Communicate with suppliers to obtain corrected invoices and memos.
• Monitor open invoices, credits, and payment status to minimize delays.
• Prepare payment projections, status reports, and freight reports.
