We are seeking a Purchasing Coordinator (PC) to work at our warehouse in Swannanoa. The PC plays a vital role ensuring the supply needs of the company are met in a timely and cost-effective manner. These responsibilities include monitoring, distributing, and maintaining the inventory of office, medical and dental supplies, and maintaining excellent communication with management and business stakeholders.
Western North Carolina Community Health Services (WNCCHS)is a Community Health Center / Federally Qualified Health Center that offers primary care, behavioral health, dental, and discounted pharmacy services, as well as a sliding fee program for insured and uninsured patients. We are private nonprofit serving thirteen counties in Western North Carolina.
The ideal candidate will have the ability to communicate effectively and interacts in a friendly, professional manner with a wide range of staff, physicians, and the public. They will be efficient with plans, priorities, and completing delegated tasks with attention to detail. Most importantly, they have experience multitasking and working well under pressure.
Experience:
- At least two years’ procurement/supplies management experience
Additional skills required:
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office programs, especially Microsoft Excel, to produce correspondence, documents, presentations, records, and spreadsheets.
- Math skills to quickly calculate the cost of goods and services.
Additional skills preferred:
- Expert knowledge of medical office operations.
- Familiarity with role of FQHCs in the community
Education:High school diploma or GED
Certification(s)/Licensure:Valid and unrestricted license to drive a motor vehicle in North Carolina.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with departments on inventory management, ordering, and distribution of supplies.
- Obtain quotes from suppliers and negotiate prices, quantity, and quality.
- Use “just-in-time” inventory management techniques to order and purchase supplies.
- Prepare requisitions and purchases via financial software, if needed.
- Monitor, track, and record orders.
- Participate in mandatory in-services, drills, staff meetings and other trainings.
- Perform duties in a prioritized, organized, and orderly manner to maximize efficiency and productivity.
- Maintain a clean, neat, and well-organized work area.
- Participate in quality improvement activities by initiating or contributing to monitoring, measuring, analyzing, improving, and/or controlling program goals, objectives, and/or services.
- Support current incentive, regulatory, and certification requirements (such as Meaningful Use, PCMH and UDS) through documentation, participation in initiatives, and other activities as directed.
- Other appropriate duties and responsibilities, as requested by supervisor.
