Responsibilities

• Coordinate with restaurant teams and distributors to resolve shortages, substitutions, and quality concerns.
• Monitor product availability and inventory needs to ensure essential supplies.
• Stay informed on food industry trends and market conditions affecting costs.
• Review vendor pricing and identify cost-saving opportunities; support purchasing strategies.
• Assist with sourcing new products and evaluating suppliers; coordinate vendor programs.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records and vendor documentation.
• Collaborate with Operations, Finance and other departments to support purchasing needs.

We are looking for a motivated, analytical, and detail-oriented Purchasing Coordinator to join our corporate team in Arlington, VA. In this role, you will play an important part in supporting our restaurant operations by managing vendor relationships, monitoring food and beverage costs, analyzing purchasing trends, and ensuring our locations have the products and supplies they need to operate successfully. What You'll Do

• Monitor food, beverage, packaging, and restaurant supply costs to identify pricing trends and significant changes.
• Analyze cost of goods sold (COGS) and help identify factors impacting product costs and restaurant profitability.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, suppliers, and major food distributors.
• Coordinate with restaurant teams and distributors to resolve product shortages, missed deliveries, substitutions, and quality concerns.
• Monitor product availability and inventory needs to help ensure restaurants have essential products and supplies.
• Stay informed on food industry trends, commodity pricing, and market conditions that may impact purchasing costs.
• Review vendor pricing, identify cost-saving opportunities, and support purchasing strategies.
• Assist with sourcing new products, evaluating suppliers, and coordinating vendor programs.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records, pricing information, vendor details, and product documentation.
• Partner closely with Operations, Finance, and other departments to support purchasing and supply chain needs.
• Communicate product pricing changes, availability updates, and vendor information to restaurant teams.
• Assist with improving purchasing processes and identifying opportunities to increase efficiency across multiple restaurant locations.

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain, food distribution, restaurant operations, or a related field preferred.
• Understanding of food costs, cost of goods sold (COGS), inventory management, and vendor relationships.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to review pricing, identify trends, and recognize cost-saving opportunities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with vendors, restaurant operators, and corporate teams.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
• High attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate purchasing and pricing records.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with different departments.

Nice to Have

• Previous experience in restaurant, foodservice, hospitality, or food distribution purchasing.
• Familiarity with food and beverage distributors, commodity pricing, and supplier programs.
• Experience working with purchasing, procurement, or inventory management systems.
• Experience supporting purchasing operations across multiple restaurant locations.
• Background in vendor negotiations, cost analysis, or sourcing.
