Job summary

Tom Trese Networking LLC in Columbus, OH is seeking an experienced Purchasing-Buyer for supplier development to support automotive lighting and components. You will research, evaluate, and buy automotive components for new model trials, and work to ensure supplier quality, cost competitiveness, and on-time delivery.

You will issue supplier documents, develop purchasing strategies, negotiate terms, and maintain supplier relationships, using Q-Pulse and other systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• Minimum of one year of experience in Purchasing, Sales, Quality Control or Engineering.
• Project management experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of supply chain management.
• Ability to negotiate based on cost/logic.
• Strong cost analysis and math skills.

Responsibilities

• Research, evaluate, and buy automotive components for new model trial events.
• Correlate and select suppliers to ensure quality, cost competitiveness and on-time delivery.
• Maintain communications with suppliers regarding design changes of trial and mass production products.
• Issue supplier documents – contracts, forecasts, RFQ, etc.
• Develop purchasing strategies for assigned commodities and suppliers and execute them.
• Negotiate to achieve cost targets and maintain supplier relationships.
• Maintain supplier documents through Q-Pulse and manage RFQ, event orders, pricing, terms.

Our client is looking for an experienced Buyer who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is adept at developing supplier relationships and can demonstrate exceptional negotiating skills.

ABOUT THE COMPANY:

Our client is a full-service, tier one supplier to the automotive industry, specializing in the design and production of lighting equipment, accessories, and electronic components. Their Ohio facility houses lighting and mold design, construction, production engineering, and dedicated associates in Quality, Assembly, Sales, and Customer Service departments.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

Researching, evaluating, and buying automotive components each new model trial event. Correlating and selecting suppliers to ensure stable quality, competitive cost, and on-time delivery. Maintaining excellent communications with suppliers regarding design changes of trial and mass production products.

• Issuing Supplier Documents – contracts, agreements, forecasts, Request for Quotation (RFQ), Maker Layout Letter, etc.
• Developing, gaining approval, and executing purchasing strategies for assigned commodities & suppliers.
• Achieving new model and mass production cost targets through effective supplier selection & negotiation.
• Maintaining effective supplier relationship management.
• Maintaining supplier documents through Q-Pulse.
• Communicating with suppliers for RFQ, event orders, pricing and terms
• Issue expense Pos
• Developing products with supplier through new model event process

HOW YOU WILL QUALIFY:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Purchasing, Business or related field or equivalent experience
• Minimum of one year of experience in Purchasing, Sales, Quality Control, or Engineering.
• Project management experience
• Time management skills

WORKING CONDITIONS:
