Sora Resource Group in Columbus, OH, seeks an experienced Purchasing-Buyer to develop suppliers and negotiate favorable terms for automotive components across new model trials and mass production.

You will establish supplier relationships, issue procurement documents, and drive cost targets while maintaining communication on design changes and delivery schedules. This role requires organization, teamwork, and strong negotiation skills to succeed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Purchasing, Business or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in Purchasing, Sales, Quality Control, or Engineering.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Supply chain management

Responsibilities

  • Researching, evaluating, and buying automotive components for new model trial events.
  • Correlating and selecting suppliers to ensure stable quality, cost, and on-time delivery.
  • Maintaining communications with suppliers regarding design changes of trial and mass production products.
  • Issuing Supplier Documents – contracts, agreements, forecasts, RFQ, Maker Layout Letter, etc.
  • Developing, gaining approval, and executing purchasing strategies for assigned commodities & suppliers.
  • Achieving new model and mass production cost targets through supplier selection & negotiation.
  • Maintaining effective supplier relationship management.
  • Maintaining supplier documents through Q-Pulse.
  • Communicating with suppliers for RFQ, event orders, pricing and terms
  • Developing products with supplier through new model event process

PURCHASING-BUYER SUPPLIER DEVELOPMENT-STAFF

PAY: $56K - $66K

Our client is looking for an experienced Buyer who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is adept at developing supplier relationships and can demonstrate exceptional negotiating skills.

ABOUT THE COMPANY:

Our client is a full-service, tier one supplier to the automotive industry, specializing in the design and production of lighting equipment, accessories, and electronic components. Their Ohio facility houses lighting and mold design, construction, production engineering, and dedicated associates in Quality, Assembly, Sales, and Customer Service departments.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

Researching, evaluating, and buying automotive components each new model trial event. Correlating and selecting suppliers to ensure stable quality, competitive cost, and on-time delivery. Maintaining excellent communications with suppliers regarding design changes of trial and mass production products.

HOW YOU WILL QUALIFY:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Purchasing, Business or related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of one year of experience in Purchasing, Sales, Quality Control, or Engineering.
